The K&S wire bonder clamp arm is a core component of the bonding fixture system, mounted on the bond head or fixture platform. Its function is to securely hold the lead frame or substrate in place using precise pressure during the bonding process, preventing workpiece displacement while working in conjunction with the heater block to ensure uniform heat transfer. The tip of the clamp arm is equipped with a replaceable clamp claw or plate, and the pressure is regulated by a spring or pneumatic mechanism; improper pressure adjustment can easily damage the chip or cause bond point misalignment. Common issues include deformation, wear, or unstable pressure, necessitating regular calibration and replacement.
